TalkPaid is offline-first: your business data lives on your device, not on our servers. That means you already hold the controls — this page explains how to use them to view, modify, or delete your data, and how to decide the way your data is used and shared. Modify your data
Jobs, transcripts, invoices, clients, inventory, services, rates, photos, and your business profile are all stored locally and can be edited or removed directly in the app at any time. Changes take effect immediately — there is no server copy to update.
Delete your data
- Individual items — delete any job, transcript, invoice, client, photo, or preset from within the app.
- Everything — deleting the TalkPaid app from your device permanently deletes all locally stored data.
- Server-side data — the only data we hold is payment-integration connection tokens and invoice payment status. Disconnect any provider from the Payment Providers screen in the app to remove its tokens, or email us and we will delete them for you.
Control how your data is used
- Transcription — by default, speech-to-text runs entirely on your device using a fully licensed Parakeet speech-to-text model; your audio never leaves your phone. Online transcription is optional and only used if you turn it on.
- AI Pro features — AI invoice drafting is opt-in and only available in TalkPaid Pro. When you use it, your transcript and relevant saved items are sent over an encrypted connection solely to generate your draft, then are not used for anything else.
- Device permissions — microphone, camera, contacts, and location access can each be granted or revoked at any time in iOS Settings → TalkPaid. The app works without them; related features simply stay off.
- Payment integrations — connecting Stripe, Square, PayPal, or QuickBooks is optional, and you can disconnect at any time from the Payment Providers screen.

How your data is shared
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use third-party analytics trackers — and there is no setting you need to change to make that true. Data only leaves your device when you actively use an online feature (online transcription, AI Pro drafting, part lookup, or a connected payment provider), and it is shared only with the service needed to complete that request.
Opt out of sale or sharing
TalkPaid does not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you live in a region with privacy rights such as the CCPA or GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability), you can exercise them directly in the app as described above, or by contacting us.
