TalkPaid is a voice-to-invoice app for contractors and service providers. It is designed to be offline-first: your business data lives on your device, not on our servers. To see how to modify or delete your data, or control how it is used and shared, visit Your Privacy Choices.
Data stored on your device
Jobs, transcripts, invoices, clients, inventory, service presets, rates, photos, business profile details, and app settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Microphone and audio
TalkPaid records audio only when you start a recording. By default, transcription happens entirely on your device using a fully licensed Parakeet speech-to-text model. If you choose online transcription or use AI Pro features, your audio or transcript is sent over an encrypted connection to our server for processing and is not used for advertising or sold to anyone.
AI Pro features
When you use AI invoice drafting, your job transcript and relevant items from your saved inventory, services, and rates are sent to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI provider to generate the invoice draft. This data is used only to produce your draft.
Payments and integrations
If you connect Stripe, Square, PayPal, or QuickBooks, we store the connection tokens needed to create payment links and sync invoices on your behalf. Your customers' payments are processed by those providers under their own privacy policies. TalkPaid never sees or stores card numbers. Peer-to-peer options (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Apple Cash) generate links or QR codes on-device.
Other device permissions
- Camera — scanning team invite QR codes and attaching job photos. Photos stay on your device.
- Contacts — importing a client's name, phone, or email only when you choose to. Stays on your device.
- Location — optionally saving a job's location to match nearby saved clients. Stays on your device.
Parts search
If you use part lookup, your search query is sent to our server and a third-party search service to retrieve prices. No personal information is included.
Subscriptions
AI Pro is billed through your Apple ID via the App Store. Apple handles all billing information; we never see your payment details. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled in your App Store account settings.
Device integrity
To protect our services from abuse, the app uses Apple's App Attest to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of TalkPaid on a real device. This uses Apple-issued cryptographic keys and does not identify you personally.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data, show ads, use third-party analytics trackers, or require an account.
Data retention and deletion
Server-side data is limited to payment integration tokens and invoice payment status. To disconnect an integration and remove its tokens, use the Payment Providers screen in the app or contact us. Step-by-step instructions for modifying and deleting your data are on Your Privacy Choices.
